Green cross stitches.

Tatreez is the art of Palestinian decorative stitching. It is an artform that originated in Palestine over 3,000 years ago. It is a unique form of embroidery that incorporates colored threads in various patterns to create traditional motifs. My logo illustrates a half stitch and a full cross-stitch.

I was first introduced to this sacred artform from my teacher and mentor Wafa Ghnaim, founder of Tatreez and Tea. After completing a variety of projects for class, I soon began making handmade gifts for family and friends. With my new studio Stitches by Eman, I hope to share a little bit of my heritage with you.

My work is in honour of my grandmother, Nizam, who was born in Nablus, Palestine. My mother remembers how she would tatreez small flowers onto pillowcases.

Every handmade piece is unique and stitched with love.
